had a daughter and a hut in the forest.
One day, they had to go to a fair leaving their daughter home alone, telling her:
- Girl, we may not come home tonight, because the fair is far away and we have alot of work with this and
that; if you don't want to spend the night alone, go up on the hut and call your close friend (spiritual sister).
- Okay, said the girl. And the couple left.
When the girl sees its already dark and her parents didn't come from the fair, she got up on the hut
and began shouting:
- Come, sister and sleep with me, because my father and my mother went to the fair, I am scared and lonely by myself
Nobody answered. The girl shouted again:
- Come, sister and sleep with me, because my father and my mother went to the fair, I am scared and lonely by myself
The sister, who knows what happened, she didn't came.
When she wanted to shout for the third time, she heard moaning and screaming.
She got scared and ran back in the hut.
There she stayed a bit, but suddenly the hut's door opened...and she sees a big and ugly
beast that made her tremble in fear.
The beast said:
- Hello, girl!
- Hello! But who are you?
- I am the sister you just called.
- No, you aren't
- Of course I am, said the beast. Sitting close to the fireplace.
The girl what to do?...She stayed numb, but still had the courage to ask:
- Oh my, you have large hands!
- Large, because many hands I ate.
- Oh!, big legs you have!
- Big, because many legs I ate.
- And your head is huge!
- Huge, because many heads I ate.
- And your mouth is huge too!
- Huge, because many boys and girls I ate with it and now is your turn.
And saying that she attacked the girl and began to suck her blood, the girl
remained without blood and in short time died.
After she died, Mother Forest (the beast) opened the door and left.
When the parents came back home and saw their girl dead, they screamed, they cried, they asked
the people what could have happened to their girl, if they were thieves or something else.
Nobody knew what to tell them. Only a bunch of people who were working on a land, told them
maybe it was Mother Forest.
Now who killed her, doesn't matter anymore, the girl was dead and the parents started to
prepare to bury her. Meanwhile, a young man who wanted to marry the girl, heard about
Mother Forest and went to a witch. The witch told him that if it was Mother Forest who killed the girl,
only she can ressurect her.
The young man loved the girl very much.
He ran to her parents and told them to not rush the funeral, because he is going
to catch Mother Forest and force her to ressurect his fiancé.
He knew from the witch where he can find the beast in the forest.
He took some cold food, tools and he left into the forest, searching, until he got tired and
saw some blood on the ground.
He was hid behind a thick tree and waited for Mother Forest to come because
he knew from the witch that where the blood is, there's also Mother Forest.
It didn't last long until he heard horrible noises coming out of the woods. In that moment he
saw the beast uncombed and black, skinny and tall, she came with the body of a girl,
sucking the blood from it.
When he saw that, the young man waited for her to cross and at the right moment, he knocked her down,
forcing her to drop the girl's body.
The man quickly put his knee on Mother Forest' back and his left hand on her throat and took the broadsword with the other hand out.
Mother Forest struggled to escape, but the young man was very strong and she couldn't do anything,
she started to beg him to let her go, promising she will give him many riches, only to let her go.
The young man, said to the beast, he will let her go, only if she tells him how to
resurrect the girl
First, she didn't want to say how, but seeing the young man started to press
the broadsword on her throat, she said:
- Wait, don't kill me, i'll tell you.
And she told him:
- Slash my leg and pour my blood in her throat.
The young man, hearing this, killed her for good and after that slashed her
leg, put the blood into a bottle and took the other girl body and went to the village,
after he resurrect his fiancee, he still had enough blood for the other girl too.
At the end of the story, he got marry with his fiancé who loved him very much after
he saved her life. They lived happily ever after, together, with many children until the end of time.
